Professor, Council for Social Development, Telangana, Hyderabad and Prof. Gyan Mudra, Chairperson in School of Gender Studies at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Hyderabad were invited as Expert Speakers.

Day- 1 -22/02/2021-Morning Session

 

The first day of the workshop started with a welcome note to the Expert Speaker Prof. Ganesh Kawadia by the Coordinator of the workshop, Dr Yashoda Verma, Assistant Professor, Department of Languages. She started the session with the brief introduction of the Expert lecture and the theme of the session. The Head of the Department of Languages, Dr Tanuja Yadav welcomed the guest speaker, research scholars and students of School of Humanities and Social Sciences. The Director, SHSS, Prof. ND Mathur, Manipal University Jaipur welcomed Prof. Ganesh Kawadia and invited him to speak on the concept of research. In The morning session of the workshop Prof. Ganesh Kawadia, Retd. Professor & Head, School of Economics, Devi Ahilya University, Indore delivered his lecture on “Basic concepts and myths about Research, Sampling techniques and Hypothesis” The lecture covered all the basic and advanced approaches to social research. The lecture laid an emphasis on the purpose of doing research. It was an interactive session.

 

Day- 1 – 22/02/2021-Afternoon Session

The afternoon session of the workshop started with a welcome note by the event Coordinator, Dr Yashoda Verma and Dr Tanuja Yadav, Head, Department of Languages, Manipal University Jaipur. The Expert Prof. Gyan mudra Chairperson in School of Gender Studies at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Hyderabad delivered her lecture on “Concept of Qualitative Research.” She explained all the necessary elements of a qualitative and quantitative research in Humanities and Social Sciences.

 

Day- 2 -23/02/2021-Morning Session

The first day of the workshop started with a welcome note to the Expert Speaker Prof. Sujit Mishra by the Coordinator of the workshop, Dr Yashoda Verma, Assistant Professor, Department of Languages. She welcomed the speaker Prof Sujit Mishra, Asst. Professor, Council for Social

Development (An Institute Of Indian Council Of Social Science Research Under Ministry Of Education), Telangana, Hyderabad. He delivered his lecture on “how to present the research in the form of a report” through a project on child marriage in Andhra Pradesh as case study. He extended his lecture talking about finding research problems of a report as real objective of the research and how does the introduction part also involve certain steps to be taken care of. Prof. Sujit emphasized on research methodologies to follow during research journey, analysis based on various resources, presentation data, conclusion which should be based on the indicators in the study, referencing part and the role of newspaper to collect all necessary updates, doing book reviews and movie reviews also for a quality research

 

Day- 2 -23/02/2021-Afternoon Session

The last session of the workshop was delivered on “Integrity and research Ethics” by Prof. Manju Singh, Professor of Economics and Head of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, Rajasthan. Prof. Manju delivered in detail about all the policies regarding research integrity like Government policies, institutional policies for research conduct. The main important step starts at individual level only to conduct honesty as a principle to follow at all levels. She told in detail about all the rules to have important limitations. Prof Manju narrated about falsification, fabrication, and plagiarism, planning research. The emphasis was laid on the protection of human subject, conflicts of interest and commitments, research responsibilities as a research supervisor, mentor, and trainee responsibilities with good monitoring attitude. The session ended with a vote of thanks to the speaker by Dr Tanuja Yadav, Head, Department of Languages, and Dr Yashoda Verma, Coordinator of the workshop.
