WORKSHOP ON INNOVATION AND ENTERPRENEURSHIP IN MEDIA BY DEPARTMENT OF JOURNALISM AND MASS COMMUNICATION

 

Event Desciption

Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Manipal University Jaipur in association with Directorate of Alumni Relations conducted a workshop on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Media on 23rd March 2022. The participants had an opportunity to interact with Journalism and Mass Communication department alumni with expertise in different areas during the offline workshop.

 

The workshop begun with greetings to the invited guests, speakers and participants. Workshop convenor, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication Alumni Coordinator and nucleus member, Directorate of Alumni Relations Dr. Vaishali Kapoor welcomed the guests and participants. She introduced the guest and briefed about the topics of workshop. She also highlighted the activities by Directorate of Alumni Relations, MUJ.

 

Department of J&MC department alumni Mr. Bhanu talked about his experience at Manipal University and how he established his own studio in 2019 which is named as “The Picture Patch”. He also shared his working experience and the difficulties he faced. He discussed the client pitching, set up of a wedding shoot session, idea generation and current trends into wedding photography. He also mentioned that wedding photography is a promising career option. Mr. Bharat Kumar (Alumnus (BAJMC 2015-18), Department of Journalism & Mass Communication) and Ms. Yamini (digital marketing and creative head) from Bhanu’s team also accompanied him for the workshop. Ms. Yamini shared her work profile in the session and interacted with the students about digital media marketing. Mr. Bharat also expressed his thoughts and experiences as MUJ alumni during the session. Vote of thanks was presented by Director, School of Media and Communication prof. Amitabh Srivastava. He thanked Bhanu and his team for their valuable contribution and insights for the workshop. He felicitated Bhanu, Bharat and Yamini with appreciation certificates and mementoes.

In session 2 J&MC department alumni Ms. Sujata talked about her experience at Manipal University jaipur during her graduation days. She emphasized on the importance of good academic record and extracurricular activities for selection in abroad education opportunities. She also talked about the challenges, she faced after going to abroad. Department of Journalism and Mass Communication Placement Co-ordinator Dr. Swikrita Dowerah did Vote of thanks.

 

The event was coordinated by Department of Journalism and Mass Communication Alumni Coordinator Dr. Vaishali Kapoor. Director, School of Media and Communication Prof. Amitabh Srivastava felicitated Sujata with appreciation certificate and memento. All participants received participation certificates and volunteers received appreciation certificates after the completion of second session. The workshop ended with interaction session among the invited speakers, faculty of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, participants and the volunteers. Ms. Garima Shah (BAJMC semester IV) hosted the workshop.
