Dr. Jayaram has completed his BAL, L.L.B from SDM Law College, Mangalore University obtained his LLM and PhD (Intellectual Property Rights) from School of Indian Legal thought Mahatma Gandhi University.  His PhD thesis is in the area of Genomic Research and Intellectual Property Rights Management. 

Dr. Jayaram is an academician and researcher with more than 22 years of professional and academic experience in the field of Law. He began his professional Life as an associate lawyer at Fox Mandal Associate – Solicitors and Advocates, a premier corporate law firm. His extensive academic career began as a researcher at Kerala Agricultural University and served as faculty member of School of Indian Legal Thought, National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi, Mar Gregorios College of Law, Cooperative School of Law and SDM Law College.

His roles in Educational Administration includes Head of the department, Centre for postgraduate studies and research, SDM Law college, Karnataka State Law University. Principal Mar Gregorios College of Law (MGCL), Trivandrum and as the Principal of Co-operative School of Law (CSL), Thodupuzha, Kerala. He was instrumental in establishing Two Law schools namely Mar Gregorios College of Law Trivandrum and Co-operative School of law Thodupuzha.

His major contribution in the field of Legal Education was the “First National Law Reforms Competition” organised by MGCL in collaboration with MILAT and with the support of Law Commission of India.  By organising this event MGCL gained the Institutional Excellence award by SILF- MILAT in the year 2017. He has also organised a one month long academic confluence on Mediation titled “Settle2021” at CSL which is recognised as the biggest event ever held in the area of Mediation, in partnership with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala State Mediation and Conciliation Centre of High Court of Kerala, Bar Council of Kerala and Confederation of Indian Industry recently.
