Prof. (Dr.) Brajesh Kumar is currently Professor and Dean of Faculty of Management and Commerce (FoMC), Manipal university, Jaipur. Professor Kumar holds a Fellow Program in Management (FPM) from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), an M.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and a B.Tech from Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central University, Pusa. During his M.Tech at IIT Kharagpur, he has been awarded Institute Silver medal and has also received prestigious DAAD Scholarship. He attended the DAAD sandwich-programme at Technical University (TU) Dresden, Germany in 2003.
Professor Kumar started his academic journey as a founding faculty member of Jindal Global Business School (JGBS), O.P. Jindal Global University (Institution of Eminence Deemed To Be University) in 2010. During his previous assignment with O P Jindal University, Professor Kumar played a pivotal role in designing, launch, outreach and promotion of various residential and online programs including, BBA (Hons), B. Com (Hons), MBA, Integrated BBA (Hons)- MBA, Ph.D., and MBA (Online). He has held multiple academic leadership positions including Assistant Dean Student Initiatives (2011-13), Director, MBA and Corporate MBA Program (2013-17), Deputy Director, Office of Academic Planning Coordination and Interdisciplinary (2017-18) and Vice Dean, JGBS (2019-23) at O P Jindal University. He also holds the position of Graduate School Teaching Associate (GSTA), School of Graduate Studies, University of New Brunswick (UNB), Fredericton, Canada. As a recipient of the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Scholarship – Advance Scholarship (QES-AS), he has visited the Faculty of Business Administration, University of New Brunswick (UNB), Fredericton, Canada as an Advance Scholar (Aug 2018- Mar 2019) where he was involved in both teaching and research. He was also a visiting scholar at Naveen Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas, USA (Sep 2012-Oct12).
Professor Kumar is a prolific researcher and has published research papers in multiple international peer reviewed (ABDC/ABS ranked, SCOPUS Indexed) journals including International Review of Financial Analysis, Journal of International Economic Studies, Journal of Emerging Market Finance, Journal of Indian Business Research, Review of Social, Economic and Administrative Studies, Bogaziçi Journal, Indonesia Capital Market Review (ICMR), and Global Business Review. He has also made conference publications at national and international levels including European Financial Association (EFMA) meetings, Australasian Finance and Banking Conference, Asia Pacific Association of Derivatives Annual Meeting, and Euro Working Group for Commodities and Financial Modelling. He has received many scholarships/grants including QES-AS and NSE Research Scholarship.
Professor Kumar is an exceptional teacher and has developed and delivered many undergraduate, post graduate and Ph.D. level courses related to Finance and Management. He has taught Fixed Income Securities and Interest Rate Derivatives to Master in Quantitative Investment Management (MQIM), Faculty of Business, UNB, Canada. Professor Kumar has also developed and delivered several management development and training programs. He has conducted various training sessions for officers from state Governments and Corporates including Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), CAG, ONGC, NHPC, MO group, Indian Railways, Coal India, and JSPL.
Professor Kumar is also an accomplished institutional builder and has diligently worked and contributed towards building strong, robust, and internationally bench-marked internal systems and processes as a part of his previous assignments.
