The Department of Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering was founded in 2014, shortly after the establishment of the University. The department was established by a team of exceptionally qualified faculty members who possess extensive industrial and research experience from various parts of the world. Our faculty members create an environment that is inspiring and motivational, thereby fostering the growth of our students to become responsible and innovative individuals.
The Department of Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering is a multidisciplinary field that combines principles of chemistry, biology, and engineering to design and develop new technologies, products, and processes. Biotechnology involves the use of living organisms, such as bacteria, yeast, and enzymes, to produce useful products or perform specific tasks. Chemical engineering, on the other hand, focuses on the design and optimization of chemical processes and systems.
The department of Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering seeks to address the challenges facing the world today, such as developing new drugs, producing renewable energy, and designing sustainable manufacturing processes. To contribute to society by developing green materials, bio-inspired materials and healthcare associated products and technologies, demand for Biotechnology Engineers in industries is increasing every year. Application of biological insight is also becoming popular in healthcare and industries such as the materials, chemicals, food and fuels. With a strong foundation in chemical and biological sciences, and bioprocess engineering, our biotechnology engineers have excellent skills to tackle the complex problems facing society.
Graduates from this department are prepared for careers in healthcare, industry, and research in emerging areas including chemical, biologicals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food and beverage production, biomaterials, biomedical engineering, environmental engineering, biofuels, chemical manufacturing and enzyme processing industries.They may work as research scientists, process engineers, production managers, or technical sales representatives, among other roles. It is also an ideal degree for students planning on pursuing higher education in India and abroad.
Overall, the Department of Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering plays a critical role in developing new technologies and processes that can improve our quality of life and address global challenges in a sustainable manner.
Our aim is to impart high quality education in different areas of Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering particularly by fostering sustainability principles to improve the quality of life by focusing on health and environment, biofuels/biochemicals, water treatment, New functional materials.
To provide state of the art environment and a rigorous academic program facilitating the students to excel in Biotechnology, Chemical and allied areas of engineering. To inculcate leadership qualities and to foster students towards entrepreneurship and research.

The academic program is designed in such a way that the students are free to choose electives over a wide range of courses including humanities and basic sciences for their overall personality development. Students are continuously evaluated based on unannounced quizzes and several assignments which allows them to have strong fundamental background as well as allows them to prepare for competitive exams.
The department provides a Ph.D. program in biotechnology and chemical engineering applied research to foster research. Throughout the program, students will receive expert guidance from experienced faculty to cultivate their research skills and pursue independent research within the Biotechnology & Chemical Engineering domain, culminating in a doctoral thesis. Research scholars are expected to contribute to teaching programs, present their scientific findings at national and international conferences, and publish their research in scholarly journals.

This laboratory provides a practical overview of the concepts of Momentum Transfer. Students will have hands-on experience on acquiring data and analyzing the results of various fluid flow operations.

This laboratory consists of equipment related to unit operations in mass transfer and empowers the student to analyze quantitatively and generate thermodynamic relationships that assist in designing of mass transfer equipments.
