This program aims to provide students with a solid foundation in the principles and techniques of AI and ML, as well as hands-on experience in applying these technologies to real-world problems.
Throughout the program, students will learn about the various subfields of AI and ML, including computer vision, natural language processing, robotics, deep learning, and others. They will study algorithms and techniques for machine learning and gain practical experience through laboratory work and projects.
The program is designed to be interdisciplinary, drawing on coursework and expertise from a variety of fields, including computer science, mathematics, and statistics. In addition to the core coursework, students will have the opportunity to participate in research projects, both within the department and with other departments and institutions.
Graduates of the B.Tech program in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) will have a deep understanding of the principles and practices of AI and ML, and will be prepared to work in a variety of industries and roles, including data analysis, software development, and research. They will be well-equipped to tackle challenging problems and contribute to the advancement of AI and ML.
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning focused on preparing students to meet the ever-increasing technological and social challenges with traditional self-discipline, hard work, all-around personality development, and a creative approach to problem-solving.
Department is having state of the art computing facilities including a supercomputer and VMware Hypervisor. Rigorous academic practices and project-based learning helps strong record for quality placements, higher education, and entrepreneurship skills. Our strong industry partnerships with Cisco, Dell, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, etc allow students for internships both on campus and in the industry apart from large numbers of placements in these Fortune 500 companies.
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning focuses on the ddevelopment and implement of AI and ML curriculum for students at all levels. It aims to Foster a culture of innovation and critical thinking in the field of AI and ML. The department provide students with hands-on experience in designing and implementing AI and ML models, encourage interdisciplinary collaborations between AI and ML researchers and educators in various fields.
It also foster partnerships with industry leaders to bring real-world applications into the classroom and stay current with the latest advancements in AI and ML research and incorporate these into the curriculum. It facilitates students' transition into the AI and ML workforce by providing job readiness skills and career development opportunities.
The department offers specializations in several important and emerging areas for the AI & ML.
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning offers the following programs:

The areas of research include - High Performance Computing, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, VANET Security, Sentiment Analysis, Cryptography, Image Processing, Data Mining, Information Retrieval, Information Security , Internet of Things, Malware Detection, Computer Vision, Approximation Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Databases, Big Data Analytics, Real Time Application, Mobile computing, Distributed Computing, Soft Computing, Network & Security, Advanced Computer Arch., Automata Theory, Security in Ipv6 (Mipv6).
With the advancement of the technologies, automation is taking place at a large scale in various industries (Industry 5.0) which may require to develop knowledge of programming languages, applied mathematics, algorithmic thought, deep learning and neural networks. AI/ML department provides the right platform to be an engineer and professional of a new world.
AI/ML is the advanced specialization of CSE in which the subjects include like Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Deep learning, Neural Networks but core CSE focuses on software development, testing and designing only. Moreover, starting average salary for a CSE graduate starts from INR 8-9 lakhs per annum, while that of a professional with an AI/ML freshers get a job with a starting average salary INR 9-10 lakhs per annum.
To meet the demand in the IT industries, AI/ML facilitate specialisation in healthcare analytics and behavioural analytics. Healthcare analytics include courses such as healthcare informatics, wearable technologies, medical image processing, IoT in healthcare, and big data analytics. Behaviour analytics includes courses such as behaviour data analysis, natural language processing, sentiment analysis and opinion mining, graph neural networks, and cognitive computing.
Based on the availability of the seat in second year only
There are different laboratories dedicated for AI/ML viz. Artificial Intelligence lab, Advanced Computational Lab, Machine Learning & Data Science Lab, High Resolution Imagery & Drone Data Processing lab.
The student will get experimental knowledge of Data Analytics, development of applications based on AI techniques, Machine Learning techniques and its real-world implementation. Apart from above a student may get practical knowledge in the different domain like sentiment analysis, natural language processing, designing chatbots, digital twin modelling etc.
MUJ coding culture is very strong. You will be given lots of opportunities to learn and to compete as there are atleast 4-5 hackathons being conducted every semester be it by clubs or by any department. There are no specific clubs that focus on these areas but multiple clubs have branches focusing on them. Students participate in goggle summer of code, SIH , hackathons by IEEE student club society and AcM chapter
Yes, there is strong coding culture in the area. At the University level and school level there are multiple clubs and community, and students are performing well. We are also working in the formation of community for specific AIML department. There are many students from AIML who have already wins the many hackathons and other competitions. As the same time many students are working in the real time project that are related to the AIML and web development as part of curriculum and project-based learning. For research Phi phenomenon club, data science club, Google student developer club
Our campus offers sufficient resources and faculty for assisting on any type of project be it autonomous drones we also have an incubation centre who can guide and help you grow if u want to take your project to the next level. There is one club for drone developer only. and one club for Mars rover challenge too.
The resources available at the university level are adequate. There are many faculties who are working in this area. We have also proposed a budget for establishing a drone lab and data processing lab at the department level.
