Applications are invited for the position of Technical Assistant, Project Associate-I and Project Associate-II to work in DST-PURSE sponsored project titled “Development and Utilization of high value products from waste resources: Circular solution for agricultural and non-agricultural applications”. The position details are given below:

 

Positions: 1

Project Associate-II

Minimum

Qualification(s)

M. Sc. in Agriculture / Botany / Soil Science / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry and allied areas with 2 years of research experience in the related field

Desired Skills

  • Greenhouse experiments, Pot-experiment, Soil experiments, Plant metabolite studies, Plant-Soil-Microbe interactions. Enzyme estimations, Stress condition, Plant growth trade analysis, Yield analysis, Agriculture field trials, Instruments: GCMS/HPLC etc.
  • Writing of reports/manuscripts/documents related to research work. 
  • Record observation and present ideas in MS excel, Power point, Word.
  • Delivery of expected objectives meeting to the project guidelines.

Project Associate-II

Minimum

Qualification(s)

M. Sc. in Chemistry/Environmental Science/Material Science/Biotechnology and allied areas with 2 years of research experience in the related field.

Desired Skills

  • Chemical and physical characterization of materials, Handling and understanding of analytical instruments: SEM, EDX, XRD BET, TGA, FTIR, GC/MS, AAS, HPLC, Spectrophotometry, Surface Modification of materials techniques, Natural products chemistry, Organic synthesis, Soil and water testing techniques. 
  • ·Writing of reports/manuscripts/documents related to research work. 
  •  Record observation and present ideas in MS excel, Power point, Word. 
  • Delivery of expected objectives meeting to the project guidelines.

Project Associate-I

Minimum

Qualification(s)

M. Sc. in Microbiology/Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology and allied areas

Desired Skills

  • ·Aseptic handling the microbial cultures, isolation and characterization, Molecular skills: Metagenomics studies, PCR/Gel electrophoresis, Microbial Diversity analysis using molecular techniques like DGGE, working with PGPRs or plant microbe interactions. Hands on experience in using HPLC. 
  • Writing of reports/manuscripts/documents related to research work. 
  • Record observation and present ideas in MS excel, Power point, Word.
  • Delivery of expected objectives meeting to the project guidelines.

Project Associate-I

Minimum

Qualification(s)

B. Tech. and M. Tech. in Chemical Engineering/Biochemical Engineering/Biotechnology/ allied areas

Desired Skills

  • Functional knowledge of separation techniques such as distillation, liquid-liquid extraction, etc.; Fundamental understanding of mass and heat transfer, thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, etc.; Hands on experience in using lab scale experimental tools 
  • Writing of reports/manuscripts/documents related to research work. 
  • Record observation and present ideas in MS excel, Power point, Word. 
  • Delivery of expected objectives meeting to the project guidelines. 

Additional skills: Operational knowledge of GC-MS, FTIR, NMR, BET, TGA, etc.

B. Tech and M. Tech in Chemical Engineering/Biochemical Engineering/Biotechnology/ allied areas

Desired Skills

  • Hands on experience in using Aspen HYSYS/Plus modelling software; Fundamental knowledge of Chemical Engineering Plant Design required for process development and scale up; Practical understanding of Thermo-chemical operations such as Combustion, Gasification and Pyrolysis 
  • Writing of reports/manuscripts/documents related to research work. 
  • Record observation and present ideas in MS excel, Power point, Word. 
  • Delivery of expected objectives meeting to the project guidelines. 

Additional skills: Life Cycle Analysis, Energy calculations and Carbon emission estimations, etc.

Technical Assistant

Minimum

Qualification(s)

B. Sc./3 Years diploma in S&T

Desired Skills

  • Demonstrate operational skills of different thermal and other integrated chemical processes. 
  • Hands on experience using different mechanical equipment in labs and operational plants. 
  • Record observation and present ideas in MS excel, Power point, Word. 
  • Delivery of expected objectives meeting to the project guidelines.

  • The nature of the post is purely temporary. Initially for one year and can be extended up to three more years subjected to the satisfactory performance of the candidate.
