ABOUT THE CHAPTER

ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery founded in New York on September 15, 1947, is the world’s largest educational and scientific society connecting and convening the researchers, educators, and professionals to apportion resources, inspire discourse and scrutinize and address the field’s challenges. ACM’s reach extends to every part of the globe, with more than half of its 100,000 members residing outside the U.S. 

Manipal University Jaipur ACM Chapter was officially chartered by ACM's Chief Operating Officer on December 14, 2015.

There were 540 student members in the academic year 2018-2019, 450 Student members in 2019-2020 and 340 Student Members along with 10 professional members in 2020-2021,  when the pandemic forcedthe world to connect online.

MUJ ACM has successfully conducted a series of Competitions, Workshops and Events. Our Members are also offered Mentorship Program in various domains from their seniors who are pursuing a career in that specific domain. 

With more than 200 ACM Student Chapters spread across the country, many of our events are promoted at a PAN India Level with students participating from all over the country.

OBJECTIVES OF THE CLUB

Providing a platform to all coding enthusiasts in our society., MUJ ACM S-CHAP believes in improving the computer science culture in our community by providing various opportunities to our members. Our significant focus: Promote use of computing and its applications. Numerous events are regularly conducted by MUJ ACM S-Chap, such as Codeathons, Hackathons, Workshops, Seminars, Webinars and of the kind to give an all-round learning experience to each and every student. The chapter wants to bring together a community of like-minded individuals to solve real-life issues. We are passionate about taking steps that will contribute in the growth of it's members as well as the Chapter as a whole.

Apart from Technical Events, MUJ ACM S-Chap also conducts Interactive panel talks on Entrepreneurship and the startup ecosystem and other fun events like Treasure Hunts, Gaming Competitions, etc. Last year, we also hosted PharmEasy founder Mr. Mikhil Innani at an interactive session.

We also won the national award for Outstanding ACM Student Chapter in India (2021-22)

VISION OF THE CLUB

MUJ ACM believes in improving the computer science culture at MUJ by providing opportunities, information and motivation to the students. Among many other goals of the chapter, the significant focus is on promoting the use of computing and its applications to make the world a better place.
